    In-person LIVE Streamed Workshop at

    MARKING TIME
Thinking through Drawing (TtD) 2024 Symposium

    Friday 25th October – Sunday 27th October 2024

    .

In her first breath drawing, Jill O’Bryan counted 40,000 breaths (from June 20, 2000, to March 15, 2005).

She traced each inhale and exhale with individual graphite marks, each connected to bodily movement and the natural environment, as a way to explore the experience of being, time, and place.

What if we close our eyes and use breath practices to measure our [drawing] time?

Let’s push the boundaries of drawing in an “out-of-place” and “out-of-time,”

non-ocularcentric, embodied, and deeply connected experience.
