Tower of Babel: Thoughts on collective design on the case of the Greek entry at the 2016 Architecture Biennale.

[If we consider the front “as the place where two ‘worlds’ cross paths and meet, while at the same time oppose one another and change, as the opening and point of access from the front of ‘a different world’ […] through a ‘third world’ or the world of aesthetics and reflection” (Trias, 2000), then, in our case, we have a lot to tell. We can describe these fronts from within thanks to our experiences in the association and in a setting where all other fronts, such as those of immigration and the economic crisis, are constantly aggravated.

These fronts and the association’s entry at the Biennale have given rise to a series of issues concerning collective design.

“The Tower of Babel failed in its program, but its result was totally unexpected, [..].  Which means that architecture is an unexpected opportunity”. (Bregazzi, 2008).]
